Failure cases of the forklift battery // Good-Cell

1. Reduce sharply hours of battery battery operation

[Cosmall Co.,Ltd in constraint complex, Hwasung-si => 48V, 545Ah, CLACK 2 tons]

We purchased used forklift and replaced cells from recyclers but it is continuously 
uncomfortable to charge two or three times during the work after using 10~20 minutes.

Factory-in : December 13, 2012

As a result of diagnosis with Good-Cell regenerator,

- poor terminal connection : 15

- faulty charging / discharging : 9,14,15, 17

- poor connection on output line with positive terminal post

2. Stop the forklift after doesn’t charging properly

- short circuit : 8,9,10,11,12

- fall short of gravity : all 24 cells

3. While charging, the battery emits a strong smell of gas and there is a hardened yellow
     powder on the outside of the battery.

It is unable to charge/discharge battery so leave it alone for one month due to having several forklifts but now we need additional forklift urgently. Customer delivered it to Good-Cell on February 5, 2012. Huge amount of electrolyte overflow to outside and sulfuric acid coagulate severely. Also, the distilled water is dried up and there are corrosion holes in the bottom of the battery fleet.

As a result of diagnosis with Good-Cell regenerator,

- barely attached its life : 1,2,6,23,24

- the worst condition: 19ea cells

We use forklift more than 8 hours a day on characteristic of logistic operations. So, the battery that can use 2~3 hours is useless. Therefore, we urgently need cost reduction in consideration of over 100 forklift battery costs. According to a good results of regeneration battery service from October 2012, Good-Cell have implemented private restoration service not only working batteries but also spare batteries.

Our response is “we have been studied for many years so will continue this business but don’t recommend it because it is completely 3D jobs as well as technical difficulties and this business doesn’t make a lot of money too due the total system time takes longtime. Energizing cycle of new batteries takes min. 168 hours. Only restoration time takes min.65 hours and additional work takes 30 hours too. Therefore, the regeneration process takes 96hrs.
